Playing around/moving/ pictures I won

It is Table top Tuesday at Marty's so I thought I would link this post to her event since Marty said the hutch section could be used for this) . Go here to see others.

I won these three pictures (above)from Michelle Morelan at her blog here (http://schematiclife.blogspot.com/She is an interior designer and an artist. She sells large paintings on etsy. You can see them on the side of her blog.)They are three little sea scapes. I only live about 20 minutes from the beach so I was excited to win them.

I am not sure if I will frame them since I like a bare look.

I am still playing around with them, but I think I prefer the 3 paintings together with the wreath on the door.....

I have tried one on my bookcase (above) and I wish I could leave it there, but I do think I like the 3 together .

I also decided to move some blue and white plates into my corner shelving. The problem with this corner hutch is that the size between the shelves varies. So you can not place the same sized plates on all of the shelves. Also the back part is narrow and will only fit small plates in the slots. So I sometimes get a top heavy look, sigh, but it is the only way to fit these plates which I love.

These plates make me happy.

And for a first time I moved my piano to a new location! WOW!! REally moving things here!! Ps. I am still playing with the dining room. My hubby says he never has to worry if he doesn't like something because soon it will change!

  1. The pictures are wonderful and how fabulous to win them. Love the wall shelf and the pictures look wonderful underneath. The blue plates are fabulous in the corner shelf. This would be a great picture to link to the Table Top Tuesday party. That's where we show all of our vignettes on tables, shelves, cupboards and any place we can arrange displays. Hope you're having a wonderful weekend. Hugs, Marty

  2. I love the casualness of paintings with no frame. It makes them feel special, like they are so wonderful you had to display them right now, fresh from the artist. And yours really are!

  3. Hi Kim
Just catching up. I like how the blue and white dishes look in your corner cabinet. Of course I would wouldn't I? I'm so glad you won the seascapes since you live close to the ocean. Lucky you for winning and living near the ocean!
    Hugs, Rhondi

  4. I can't believe you moved the piano. Did you paint the wall in the old place?

  5. I like the new pictures without frames.
I like them hung under the shelves...love your grassy looking spring wreath.
I've been looking at wreaths for around the house-- I think I need a new wreath for the front door.

Love the soft yellow paint at Spindle cottage as well as the bead board paneling.
I have to say one more thing... I've never noticed the 'oil-lamp- looking' light over your table. It Looks cottagey!

  18. Hi Kim,
I also have a corner cabinet not built in and yes you really do need three of something to balance it out. I love your dishes and all your displays, they are so pretty to look at. You must have pick up the spring cleaning bug. I have been cleaning as I'm packing so I guess I have the spring cleaning bug too.
I love your home, its so full of love that just shines right through the photo's.
Take care and big hugs, Elizabeth

  19. I love the built in corner shelf. Older homes have so much character! I would never have noticed the difference in shelf height. I think you have disguised it well by placing lighter colored plates/items on the top and ones with color in the middle. Very pretty and pleasing to the eye. Hugs, Lisa
