It is a cool morning here and we hadn't put our heat on yet in this area of our home. SOOOO it was a good excuse to light the fire and enjoy some cozy time! (Hey--if you are looking for my tablescape it is in the post below this one)
I enjoyed some gluten free toast with applebutter (from the Mountains of NC)--on my new plate and cup--I love these for Fall and winter!!
It is the nice thing about the South--one can enjoy warm fires any ole time ;-)
Hey, after seeing your fire...think I will build one tonight...will be the first one this fall. Hope you have a fun and safe weekend.

There is nothing so cozy as a fireplace going on a cooler day.
ReplyDeleteI have some of those same dishes!
Enjoy your weekend,
Carolyn

Hello,
ReplyDeleteYour fire looks cozy indeed. It's been pouring rain here on the Island all night and morning - a fire would have been nice.
You asked about the sage leaves. I just pick them, and heat a little olive oil in a pan, plunk the individual leaves in for a few seconds on each side, then fish them out onto a paper towel to drain and sprinkle them with salt. I have to be careful not to let the oil get too hot or else they burn easily. Medium heat is plenty.
I would think that brushing them with a little oil and baking them for a few minutes until crispy would work just as well.
I didn't put many on the salad - just a few as a garnish.
Enjoy,
Lorrie
