ok I
just got back from vacation and wanted to show a meta monday post. So because I am pressed for time the photos are small. The transformation is ifi because the after pics were done at night and the colors don't come out well so the after pics may look worse!! HA!! In the pic below the before look of this room has a rug that is too small for the space. So in the pic below I switched rugs from another room. It does look beter even if you can't tell!
Now in the next pic below the colors look crazy!! because I have taken the picture with night lighting--I GUESS! This is the after pic.
Below is the blue and white before--which I do love....but I felt like some bright reds.
I love how cozy your rooms feel! I'm getting ready to paint the panelling (and brick fireplace if hubby relents) in my family room and hope it turns out as fabulous as yours. Thanks for visiting my blog :o)
ReplyDeleteYour cottage may be small but it looks open and roomy on the inside. The changes you made look great. I started with the reds in my dinning room but the blues snuck in. Funny how that happens.

Love the changes! Great rooms and cute little chickens :)

Nanny Kim,
ReplyDeleteI do see your beautiful black and white cat there. Cats seem to have a very calming effect on my son. He is definately a cat person.
I just love all the character in your cottage. It has so much architectural interest.
Hugs,
Dawn
I think the larger rug looks great. I love the red in the kitchen - we are hoping to rip out our kitchen next year and I am so drawn to red accessories - have seen loads across blog land and I jus love it :)
ReplyDeleteI love your rooms - the white one is so fresh !

Hi! Thanks for the comment on my blog!
ReplyDeleteI couldn't really use my wooden utensils for salads because... they are nearly 3 feet long!! Bwahaha! teehee!
You have such a charming home with so much character. Love the fireplace and your blue & white china. Thanks for the comment on my blog. To answer your question - you can see a brief tutorial of how I make my slipcovers at http://missmustardseed.blogspot.com/2009/09/slipcovering-chair.html. I've had several questions about slipcovers, so I will be doing more detailed tutorials in the future.
ReplyDeleteThe rug switch does make a big difference! Glad you went for it.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed my visit at your blog. Love your charming home. Thanks for visiting mine and leaving such a sweet comment. I'll be back.

Gail
I love your cozy little cottage! Adorable :-) I love the red in the kitchen! It's beautiful. Thank you for commenting on my blog.
ReplyDeleteYou asked about modge podge. I'm one of the few bloggers that doesn't have a lot of crafting stuff but I DO have 4 children LOL.
I purchased the modge podge at the craft store AGES ago when we were doing a school project. I haven't even used 1/2 of that huge container of modge podge LOL!
Hi,
ReplyDeleteWe purchased the door probably about seven years ago at Lowes. They would probably still have them. Good luck and hope you find one.
Blessings,
Gail
